TRI HITA KARANA-BASED CHARACTER EDUCATION: A SOLUTION TO IMPROVE THE DISCIPLINE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

This study aims to describe Tri Hita Karana-based character education and solutions to improve
student discipline at SDN Kota Mataram. This research uses descriptive qualitative research
methods with data collection methods using interviews and observations. The results of the
research and analysis show that Tri Hita Karana-based character education is carried out based
on the concepts and values contained in Tri Hita Karana itself, namely 1) the concept of
Parahayangan (human relationship with God), 2) the concept of Pawongan (human relationship
with humans), and 3) the concept of Palemahan (human relationship with nature). Apart from
that, character education is implemented at SDN Kota Mataram utilizing the tri-center, namely
school, family, and community, where character values are taught and applied, as well as in the
classroom.
